Monday will see French courts rule if Ebay should pay a fine to LV and other French Luxury companies. The fine totaling 51 Million Euros if levied is to compensate the companies for the sale of fake goods on Ebay. Should the ruling go against Ebay I wonder if we'll see stricter controls over high end goods. Although they have brought in new measure, sadly what happened is that Ebay got harder for those listing Authentic goods but hasn't seemed to deter the fakers. UPDATE French courts ruled in favour LVMH. Ruling that Ebay did not do enough to prevent the sale of counterfeit goods. Ebay has been ordered to pay a fine of 40 million Euro's and has been prohibited from selling perfumes from LVMH, along with being ordered to display the ruling on the website AND pay for the ruling to appear in publications of LVHM choice .
