It's not uncommon to see pieces from different designers that look strikingly similar but recent this lead to a mini spat between two fashion giants.

The item in the centre of the row is the pj style trousers from the recent Dolce & Gabbana Mens Fall Winter show which Giorgio Armani claims are a copy of trousers from a previous Armani show.

Corriere della Sera newspaper quoted Armani as saying: "They copied some trousers from the last [Armani] collection." "I would understand if they were nobodies. But honestly!" he said

Although not willing to take the comment lightly Dolce shot back "Stylistically, the Armani style is not, and has never been, an inspiration source for us and we stopped seeing his fashion shows years ago."

Ouch, round one to Dolce & Gabbana
