Bravo! Bravo! The D&G show is beautiful, theatrical and over the top and I love it! Inspired by the Operatic background of the theatre where they display their shows the influence is strong and clear. Fabrics are heavy velvets, brocades, jewel studded and pretty tapestry print chiffon's. Here are some of my favourite picks:-
Maria Callas print T-shirts showed up a couple of times this time teamed with a fur cape (trend alert!)
Corset's were a big feature in the show this one trimmed with rope style curtain trimmings which was also worn as fabulous belts throughout
I love this one too, it's like she's tore up the VIP box and used it to make her outfit, quilted, jeweled, embellished and beautiful
Sculptured, tailored metallic leather jacket (trend warning tailored jackets have a appeared a few times)

Marc Jacobs Jennifer Bag as seen on the arm of Sienna Miller is ticking many Spring Summer Trend boxes from the textured materials, chain strap and leather trimmings. The hand stitched leather bag retails for $1995 Pre order your's now from Nordstrom
I have never taken a great deal of notice of bags outside the LV family but in recent months Miu Miu has caught my eye. Miu Miu and I just love the delicate waves of leather it just looks like a swirling cappuccino. Another pretty little detail is the jewelled hinges on the strap, a great looking and versatile bag that I will be taking a closer look at next shopping trip. The Miu Miu Tote is also available on Net-a-Porter and retails for £876
I previously blogged about the Marc Jacobs Fall Winter show now you can check out the video too courtesy of Nordstrom Shop Marc Jacobs Spring Collection, now at Nordstrom.
Milan fashion week kicked off to a great start, I just love the Emporio Armani show every look from start to finish is fabulous. Armani pulled together a show that is filled with timeless pieces, it's tailored, it's smart, it's classy but it's still girly, youthful and fun an all round winner.
The show featured many beautiful tailored coats and jackets I really love the leather jackets with velvet corsages above or the gorgeous fitted jackets below with the ruffled velvet trimmings.
This is an adorable outfit I really love the jewelled chain detailing that can also been seen hanging at the hip on a few other outfits.
I couldn't help thinking how great this would look with the Louis Vuitton Vernis Rose Alma due out in April, (sorry a little sidetracking there)
A little Rock chick with an added dose of cutesy from the bow, the diamante ankle sock also featured big in the show. You can check out and discuss the Emporio Armani show at The Bag Lounge, why not drop on by Pics:WWD
According to the Scottish Sun, the Bakery Truly Scrumptious has been issued with orders from Louis Vuitton to stop producing Louis Vuitton cakes as it does have permission to use the design. I support Vuitton's aggressive stance against counterfeiting but sometimes I think the law department lose their way a little. They did not win the case against the "chewy Vuitton" dog toy as it was deemed that a customer would not get confused between the two items (gosh I'd hope not) so on those grounds I really don't see them winning this one either. Based upon most Louis Vuitton cakes out there I really don't think anyone is going to be confused over which is the real bag. I have seen one truly convincing Vuitton Cake it was featured in a fashion mag although I can not remember which one, the cake was a miroir Alma. The cake was apparently so convincing in real life that as the magazine where transporting it the Airport Security control wanted them to open the bag! All in all this seems a little pointless to me there are much bigger fish to fry and any general search of Louis Vuitton will bring up hundreds of websites selling fakes that are still operating, they aren't hard to find so stop wasting time on a Baker and go after the Faker. The one thing is did do is give Truly Scrumptious the best advertising that money can't buy.

Graeme Black's Fall Winter collection found it's inspiration when he took a wrong turn at the British Natural History Museum and ended up in the Mineral room. Below are some of my key picks from the show but my favourite piece is this white dress with what looks like the gorgeous orange lava flow.
I really like this one too, the skirt print almost looks like slices of minerals which have then been added to the dress as embellishmentsAll in all there has not been much of interest for me during London fashion week but as the week rolls to a close and the show moves on to Milan I'm waiting with baited breath, Milan and Paris are always my favourite fashion weeks. images: Style.com

Versus was the to Versace what D&G is to Dolce and Gabbana. Whilst the Versace company floundered and struggled to find it's feet after Gianni's death the Versus diffusion line was put ice. Now Versace are ready to bring it back, the line will show case on March 1st as part of Milan fashion week, it is rather a strange time to relaunch a once ailing label in times when economic uncertainties lie ahead. The range focuses on accessories of a more affordable nature and from what I know of it in the past often follow are more restrained path than it's flamboyant big sister company. I do have a fondness for Versace and in fact my very pair of designer sunglasses were from Versus, looks like it's time to dig them out again. In other news from Milan Roberto Cavalli has cancelled the Just Cavalli show after it's licensee has filed bankrupcy, he issued the following statement "I have made this decision in order to protect the Just Cavalli image and its clients,” source: WWD

Chanel seriously do the best accessories!!!! We've had the Chanel surfboard, snowboard, bike and even guitar but now at the for front of technology there is the Chanel Segway! I love it. The segway features the classic Chanel quilting on the handle bars, wheel arches and bumpers and comes with an added bag for all the things you need to carry. It goes 20km which means I could travel to work and back on it lol!!!!! source: luxuo

Check out this fab little crystallized purse light! With the right marketing and advertising this could go on to the most indispensable item in a woman's handbag. Ladies how many time have you raked around literally elbow deep in your bag looking for your keys or worse your ringing phone?? Annoying! The purse light can end all of the in one sparkling ray of light and at only $13 you buy them for practically every bag you own. I only have one teeny tiny moan and that is that you have to switch it on and off in the perfect world it would be like a little fridge light popping on when you open the bag. WWD are reporting today that an informal survey of female shoppers indicated that they would pay for tickets to fashion week, although designers are less enthusiastic on the idea with Diane von Furstenberg, currently president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America saying, "I feel very strongly it is a very bad idea for consumers to see clothes that they won't be able to buy for six or seven months,". First off this is the lamest excuse I have ever heard, we can already see the clothes and dissect them stitch by stitch via fashion blogs and forums within hours of the shows, are we all confused and wandering around in bikini's in mid winter? No. My take on the question should they sell tickets is absolutely YES where do I sign up?? I would love to go to fashion week and would happily pay for the privilege and it would be a great way for designers to off set the costs of staging a show which can be in excess of $50,000. If they feel that it some how devalues the production then why not stage two shows, one for the press and buyers the other for the paying public. And finally if they want to maintain exclusivity then they could even do a lottery style draw for the privilege of buying tickets. What do you think about selling fashion week tickets? I always eagerly await the Marc Jacobs show because it gives me an idea of what to expect from the Louis Vuitton show. The two are not the same but they do follow similar trends and this year it looks as if it's going down the well worn 80's path. With the Sprouse tribute and the recession it looks like a full on 80's revival all I need now is a banana clip and a Top Gun re-run! From Vogue:- “It had nothing to do with the economy,” Jacobs said backstage of his reason for revisiting the good old days. “I like color and I was thinking about what an energy and creativity there was here in the city where I was born. People used to get dressed up and take hours to get ready to go out clubbing. I just wanted to celebrate that idea and that energy.” On a whole I like some pieces but the 80's holds some fashion nightmares I'm just not ready to revisit.
