If you dropped by last week you may recall my promise in the Louis Vuitton Volupte Psyche post to show you another of the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter bags, and by the title it's not hard to guess which.
The Fleur de Jais Carrousel is the medium sized member of the family, the Speedy 30 being the larger and the Manage clutch the smallest member of the family.
The traditional monogram canvas is first silk screened with a grey floral design which is then further embellished with a black flocking and finished with the black sequin design.
The addition of the black grained leather flap conceals a zipped opening, while the push lock closure is half covered with the same grained leather.
One thing that I think is worth pointing out for anyone who is considering the Louis Vuitton Fleur de Jais line is that in the care booklet you are asked to carry these bags by hand. Carrying these bags over the crook of your arm would increase the rubbing and damage to the bag.
Sorry for the plastic covering the handles I like to leave them covered until I'm going to use it and I just couldn't wait to take pictures.
So there you have it the beautiful Louis Vuitton Fleur de Jais Carrousel from Fall Winter 2010

Mulberry took the show on the road a couple of days ago with a Fall Winter 2010 launch party held in Singapore, and what a beautiful party that must have been!
The venue, Tanjong Beach Club was decorated with the oversize glitzy leopards that we first saw at the show and now decorate the Mulberry stores.
Guests got a little taste of Britain with mini fish and chips wrapped in newspaper (is there any other way?) but the absolute cutest thing on the menu was the ADORABLE Alexa cupcakes!
To wrap up the party guests had probably the busiest women is fashion right now and the bags namesake Alexa Chung DJing the event, so muse, host, model, DJ is there anything this woman can't do?
The Fall Winter 2010 Mulberry Collection is available in stores and online at Mulberry.com now with further releases coming soon.

I know you will have by now seen the runway pics of the Louis Vuitton Show bags for Fall 2010 and the very glamorous ad campaign too but I thought I'd take the chance to show you one of the bags in real life.
A couple of days my partners mum picked up her first runway bag, the delectable Louis Vuitton Volupte Psyche.
Psyche, in Roman mythology, was a girl so beautiful she was the target of Venus' jealousy and captured Cupid's heart.
Psyche the bag is a grained calf leather and coated cotton beauty with an optional shoulder strap for multiple ways to carry it.
This bag is great for security as along with the S Lock closure it has a zip underneath the leather flap. In interior only has one pocket and there is no phone pocket which is a little unusual as these are a pretty common feature now.
And there you have it, the Louis Vuitton Psyche in all her glory.
Be sure to check back on Monday or Tuesday as I'll have my very own runway bag to show you.

Today seems to be my day for rants so I figured why fight it? I thought today I'd do a slightly different blog and it's about something that I've been thinking about for a little while.
Each month I get a number of fashion mags (btw if people ask for ideas on what gifts to buy you at birthdays or holidays magazine subscriptions work a treat) and almost every month there is a new "Fashion Icon" proclaimed to be the best thing since the previous icon. Last weeks Grazia cooed over Blake Lively, todays Vogue.com applauds the Twilight starts sense of style and barely a month goes by without someone singing the praises of Emma Watson.
In case you're wondering where this is going it is not about the ever changing face of fashion idols but in fact a very simple question.
It is in fact the stylist who chooses the clothes, the accessories, the shoes, is it not? And this being the case how does this make any of the idols more worthy of adoration than the mannequin in a shop window?
Before any one jumps on the defensive bandwagon I have nothing against any of these stars they are forging their way in their respective roles and making a whole load of money in the process more power to them. It is not a post based on personalities, looks or skills merely a questioning of their credentials to carry the mantel thrust upon them.

Can someone with a stylist really be a fashion icon?

As a self confessed shoe snob never did I think I would see the day that I would do a blog on a pair of plastic shoes but ladies and gents that day has in fact come.
Earlier today while trawling through my inbox I came across an email from the Gilt Group, quite why I torture myself with the emails is beyond me being that they are in the US and I'm in the UK and so can't take advantage of their fabulous sales anyway I digress. In todays email was a notification of the sale on Melissa shoes so curiosity getting the better of me I took a look, now it's that I'd never seen Melissa shoes before they are most famous for the collaboration with Vivienne Westwood, it's just that those styles didn't exactly make my head spin, the Gilt sale does have a few more options some of which are pretty cute so off I went to google and found fashion-conscience.
Fashion-Conscience is a website specialising in ethically sourced fashions that thankfully are also stylish and fashion forward no tie dye hemp dresses here (unless of course it's this seasons must have). Fashion-Conscience also stock quite a large range of Melissa shoes. Melissa shoes are part made from recycled material, are themselves recyclable, vegan and manufactured in both an environmentally and socially responsible factory.
So what did I find?
The Melissa Troupe wedge brogue is probably my favourite of all styles cute for summer but great for winter too, £85
Now I know before I said I wasn't that crazy on the Vivienne Westwood style but I hadn't seen the Lady Dragon with Cherries, £107. These are adorable they totally have that cheeky retro style.
Lastly from Fashion-conscience are the latest Melissa collaboration with none other than Jean Paul Gaultier, retailing at £158 these shoes were featured in Grazia just this week and come in black, caramel/honey, beige, lime and tangerine although fashion-conscience currently only show black.
Alternatively, Hevia Bazaar has all colours of the Jean Paul Gaultier shoes in stock (my favourite are the honey) along with the beautiful Ultragirl Maskrey and Lady Dragon Maskrey

My Fall wishlist just keeps getting longer! At Kurt Geiger last week I spotted these stunning shoes, they are called GRASS
and are made by Carvela. Why Grass? I don't know but who cares when they're this cute

The GRASS
heels are basically a satin ballerina with height (12cm heel), simple yet stunning. The black are a great smart everyday shoe with a twist but personally I love the showy impact of the purple.
GRASS
by Carvela are available at Kurt Geiger now and retail for £110.

Something that will definitely be going on my wishlist are these beautifully glamourous gloves from Diane Von Furstenburg.
The DVF Windsor Leather and Lace gloves are available in two colour combinations, purple and black and cream and black.
Retailing at £112 the Windsor gloves are available for purchase at matchesfashion.com
right now.

At the beginning of each month Louis Vuitton add some new members to their family ,as the runway collection does not release until late August/early September the new releases are developing and expanding existing collections.
Let's take a look.
First up is the Monogram Alma BB, there are going to be a few more Alma BB's later in the year (including and Eclipse one!) but right now we have the Monogram version and the Vernis version (more about that later). The BB size is a petit model perfect for evenings out and days when you don't need to carry very much it's also a super stylish alternative to a messenger bag.
In Damier the Rivington collection brings three new shoulder bags, although I have not doubt they are functional I can't help but think I've seen it all before. The Rivington PM and GM are not unlike the Duomo crossed with a Montorgueil, the Cabas a little neverfull like. One feature I think people will like with the cabas is unlike the Neverfull it does not cinch with pulls it actually zips up to change the shape.
The biggest addition to the bags of Vuitton comes in the Vernis collection. The release of the new colour Rouge Fauviste, as with all colours in the Vernis range this will not be around forever currently it is scheduled for a 12 months release occasionally these do get extended but it's always best to buy when you can so you don't miss out.
Rouge Fauviste was best described on The Bag Lounge as the love child of Pomme D'Amour and Amarante, it's a deep red with some purple undertones. Above is a picture of majority but not all of the bags available in the new colour.
The eagle eyed among you may have spotted a new bag in the batch above, top row centre is the new Pershing PM (also available in GM) the pouch style clutch feature 8 cards slots and comes in Amarante also.
I have checked with the UK helpline already and most stores have some pieces of the Rouge Fauviste Vernis although stocks at the moment are limited.
In other news, there are currently shortages in both canvas bags (mono, damier, damier azur) and specifically the Alma, in the case of the Alma the shape is being remodeled and new stocks are slowly making their way into stores so while the old one's sell through and the new one's arrive the stocks are low.
As for the general canvas bags this is a simple supply and demand issue basically the Louis Vuitton workshops can not keep up with the demand for their product, to help ease the burden a two bag limit has been enforced in the UK.
If you did have your eyes on an Alma or one the other canvas bags once again hurry once they are gone who know's when the stock will be replenished.
