Possibly the most famous shoe in history, Cinderella's glass slipper has had a makeover for 2012 by none other the fabulous Christian Louboutin.

To celebrate the release of Cinderella on blu-ray later this year Disney asked Louboutin to re-imagine the iconic shoe . "You imagine it being completely transparent, (made) out of glass," Louboutin says. But "full and classical transparency made into a shoe makes a really ugly foot." And using a plastic such as Lucite "could look very '60s or sort of punky."


Now here comes the bad news, the delicate lace and swarovski crystal beauty will sadly not be available for purchase, this really is a shame as not only is it a beautiful shoe but it would also make a wonderful bridal shoe especially for Disney Brides looking for that extra touch of fairytale.
Now the silver lining, 20 pairs of the Cinderella shoes will be made and given away in a worldwide competition making some very lucky ladies dreams come true. Details of how you can get the chance to win these shoes will be released on the 17th August.
