Last week I posted my top 5 bags from New York Fashion Week, this week it's time for my top picks from London Fashion Week.
Starting off my round up is a colour blocked square bowler bag from Paul Smith. I love the magenta and orange combination finished of simply with black straps the bag looks a pretty good size for day to day usage too. Whilst we're looking at the bag what do you think about this new way of carrying larger bags like a clutch (blame Victoria Beckham she started it)?
Second on my radar could easily be a prop straight up from the Hunger Games (so looking forward to that movie coming out later in the year!!). The metal cage clutch from Christopher Kane is undeniably stunning it was also shown in a black version.
Third up is from Burberry and by the wonders of the Burberry team actually allowing orders straight after the showing of the collection I can actually tell you quite a bit about this one (I love, love, love that they do this).
The bag below is called The Little Crush and is shown in Oxblood calfskin with a heart print, there is an inner bag that pokes out over the top which is leather and closes with a drawstring. The Little Crush also features a detachable shoulder strap that was not shown on the runway. The bag retails for £850 and if you order now you can have it personalised with a metal plate inside bearing you name (this only for a limited time). This was one of my favourites from the Burberry show but it was a close call there are a number of great looking bags, I highly recommend checking out the website for all the options and early ordering.
My last picks have me cheating again as they are both from the same show. During the live stream of the Mulberry show perfectly timed product images popped up along side to allow a better look at some of the beauties from the runway. My first favourite is a FW variation on the Willow bag from SS'13. The Willow is in Oxblood, clearly a popular colour for Fall Winter and still features the genius zip off clutch/pocket from the front of the bag, again calf skin and exotic leathers where a popular choice here as with many other shows, definitely a stand out trend for the coming year.
My second pick from Mulberry is the Suffolk, a new bag for the coming season. Suffolk is refined ladylike elegance all bundled up and finished with some beautifully shiny golden hardware, there were quite a few variation of the Suffolk in the show ranging from Snow White leather to deep Pheasant Green Ostrich, below we have the simple but never boring black version. Suffolk is definitely one to keep on your radar.
So those are My Top 5 Bags for London Fashion Week Fall Winter 2013-14, do you have a favourite from the shows? Is it amongst my picks or have you lost your heart to another altogether? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
